Canine Clay 3
This project has taken several turns and a few delays. Here is an update to bring this into perspective. First of all, the work had to be finished on location (the residence of the subjects) which consumed daily travel time to and from the location. Then there was a significant design change with the decision to not connect the two dogs as originally planned (which although requiring a lot of time to "undo" a lot of work, actually made me happy because it will be a better piece). Finally, the added time needed meant that shows already on my schedule would now interrupt the project. In addition to the time away at these events, there is the time needed to prepare for them. Anyway, making a long story longer - as you know this blog has not been updated in several months. In an attempt to make amends, here is what I am going to do. I have taken photos throughout the process and will post them in chronilogical order starting Friday. This sculpture will be completed by then and taken to the foundry. A photo of where it is now is shown below. The progress postings will show you how I got to this point. I hope you find it interesting.
